If you are building an MLM online and don’t have an upline that knows what they are doing online then it is time to make a change.  I’m telling you that is one of the biggest mistakes people make, it’s the blind leading the blind.  In fact that is one of the biggest mistakes that I made when I first got in this industry.  I was trying to build online without any support.  I was going at it alone.

Ok so I had someone email me the other day asking me if I would take a look at their company because they value my opinion.  We all know that this is just a way that “newbies” try to get you to look at their opportunity.  This was my reply and I wanted to share it with everyone.

It’s not ALL about the company there is more to it than that. I know a lot of people that have been in great companies but never made a dime.  Why is that?

Here are 3 things that you need to be successful in any home based business.  If you have all 3 of them then you will succeed.

1.  Relative comp plan.  And I’m not talking about one that takes 3-5 years before you start making any “real” money.   Everyone thinks that their comp plan is the best one in the industry.  What I am talking about is the amount of money that you get paid for sponsoring someone.  Is it $100 bucks, $50 bucks, $1000 bucks?  The reason this is important is because I have learned that you will do the same amount of work to sponsor someone whether you make $100 dollars or $1000.  So which would you rather have?  $100 or $1000 for the same amount of work?

Now a days people need money now so you need a comp plan that pays you now, and pays you enough to live off just from the sponsoring of people.  Otherwise you will need to sponsor at least 100 people a month to make any real money.  And who in the heck can do that?  And why would you anyways..  If you could find a comp plan that you only needed to sponsor 10 people to make the same amount of money.  That’s what I mean by relative, 20-30 years ago everyone accepted that building a MLM business would take 3-5 years to build.  People just don’t have that kind of time anymore.  We need to make money yesterday!!  We’ve got bills to pay.

2.  Hundreds if not thousands of prospects looking at your business DAILY.  It’s a numbers game when you want to build a HUGE organization you have to get in front of thousands of people a day.  And you have to be able to do it in a way that everyone can do it, so they don’t all have to become some internet marketing genius.   I have found that the best way to get this kind of exposure is to use tools that are automated.  One of my favorite tools to use is called Lead Net Pro you can check it out if you want.  Basically what it does is scrapes the internet for email addresses and phone numbers.  And then once you have those numbers you will send emails and also do voice broadcasting.  Another method that surprisingly works is sending ugly postcards.  If you want to see how I do that then you can read this 21 page PDF on how to make money using ugly postcards.

From my experience what I have found is that not everyone can become an internet marketing guru.  And what usually happens is someone will start going through the process and will think they have to know how to do PPC, article marketing, facebook, twitter, blogging, solo ads, branding, youtube video and on and on it goes until you are blue in the face.  Before you know if you are 3-6 months in to becoming a “guru” and you haven’t made a dime.  So it is time to get rid of that kind of thinking and just focus on what works and what will put money in your pocket TODAY not 3-5 years from now.

3.  A marketing funnel that CONVERTS.  With all of those thousands of people that will be looking at your business on a daily basis you need to have a systematic way of filtering them and finding the people that are ready to join.  You need to have something in place that does all the sifting and sorting for you.  So that when the phone rings the only question you have to answer is “where do I send the check and how do I get started?”  This could be one of the most important parts to this equation.  And the key word here is having a funnel that CONVERTS.  One that has been through the ringer and has been tweaked and tested until you know for sure that it works and will convert people in to sales for you.

The beauty of having a marketing system that works is that it will do all of the selling for you.  All you have to do is drive prospects to it and  fill up your funnel and then checks will pop out the bottom like magic.  If you want to see what a good converting funnel looks like then check out www.SecretOnlineFormula.com this funnel was built by my good friend Rod and it converts like crazy.  Feel free to use it as a template of what your funnel should look like.  Pay attention to the second page and how Rod presents the opportunity.  He uses a lot of psychological words and pictures that make people want to get started now.  After you have opted in go and check out your inbox.  You will see that you have an email from me talking about what you just saw.  This is what I am talking about when I say a marketing funnel that converts and using automated tools.

You also need to make sure that you have a system in place so that everyone that you bring in can have the exact same funnel to use, that way they don’t have to become some web designer.

If you have all 3 of these then you have a really good shot at making a lot of money!!

But if you are missing just one, then you will spin your wheels forever wondering why you’re not making any money.  The sad truth is that a lot of people in the industry are missing all 3…  Are you one of them?

Xango Review: Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Lehi, Utah, XanGo is a private company that has gained fame for its various health and skin care products. Its most famous product is XanGo juice, a mangosteen based product that serves as a nutritional supplement.

The juice is marketed as a healthy product, containing juices from a wide variety of fruits including blueberries and apples. The organization also manufactures and sells Eleviv, an herbal health supplement that supposedly restores metabolic balance, a key to maintaining a healthy weight. Lastly, Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care is a group of products made from natural and organic materials, including mangosteen byproducts, for healthy skin.

XanGo is a privately held company with five of its original founders serving as executives or members of the Board of Directors.

The organization has been named a ‘best place to work’ in the state of Utah, and has been recognized for philanthropic efforts and corporate responsibility. Ernst and Young have also acknowledged two of the original founders and executives, Aaron Garrity and Gary Hollister, for their entrepreneurial skills.

Although they do not disclose financial statements, sales of the three major products, XanGo Juice, Eleviv and Glimpse Intuition Skin Care have been on the rise since the company’s founding in 2002. In 2008, the company’s sales were said to have reached over one and a half billion dollars.

The juice itself is based on mangosteen aril and pericarp puree, but also incorporates juices and purees from cranberries, cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Despite attempts and appeals, the corporation was not granted a patent on their juice product from the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

The juice and health products have stirred some controversy for the corporation. They have been issued warnings from the Food and Drug Administration as a result of their advertising tactics and claims about health benefits. By marketing the product as a drug, rather than a food product, with various health benefits, the FDA indicates that they are in danger of violating regulations.

Medical research organizations, like the Mayo Clinic of Minnesota, argue the special health qualities of this juice as an effective treatment for chronic or serious health problems and diseases.

The company was at the center of trademark litigation when Tahitian Noni International sued the company for stealing its ideas for health supplements that use mangosteen byproducts. Some XanGo executives and founders were originally employees for Tahitian Noni International, and are accused of stealing ideas. The companies eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed amount, but not after a countersuit was filed.

Herbalife Review:  Founded in 1980 by Mark Hughes, Herbalife was created to try and help people improve their basic nutrition. As the company grew and expanded, other products were added, including personal care items. This company first started in Los Angeles, California and then in 1982, expanded to Canada. One thing they are best known for is their weight loss goods.

When he started the company, Mr Hughes actually wanted to help people with two different aspects of their lives. Not only did he see a need for better nutrition, but he also saw a way to help put them on better financial footing. People can start their own business as Herbalife distributors, being backed by an already famous line of products. They claim to have a great compensation package and great earning potential. The fact that you have to invest in their company and find your own customers, however, can be severe drawbacks.

Something immediately noticeable, if you explore their website, is the information that they do not provide. When you try to find details on how to get involved with them, you find a page asking for all of your personal details. They do not tell you anything there about how much money you need or how you will find people to buy the products.This probably deters many people who would like some answers, before giving out confidential information.

Some may also be surprised to find that nutrition does not really seem to be their main concern. Most of their products and sale pitches focus only on weight loss. Though they do have other products for sale, they tend to make you think that everyone has to worry about their weight and being obese. It is already known that this is a problem for some people, but it does not apply to all of us. As a matter of fact, if you do not need to lose weight, these types of sale pitches can be rather upsetting.

It is also safe to assume that many customers are lost simply due to the prices they charge for their products. Many of them cost more than comparable moderately priced items that you can pick up in any store. In our modern economy, people cannot afford to pay over twice as much for something they could easily buy elsewhere. High quality or not, there is no need to have to spend so much for great nutrition boosters. These are made by many companies and you will often find the same ingredients at a much lower cost.

Even fewer can afford to invest a lot of money in personal hygiene items. Everyone wants to stay clean and look great, but it is not necessary to spend $21 for a face mask to be able to do so. Some people think that expensive is always better, but this is not really true. Such items may be perfect for those with money to waste, but many people will have to go shop at their local drugstore. If they made some pricing changes, they could probably draw-in many more shoppers.

For people who are determined and can afford the endeavor, Herbalife can help them grow their income and use great products. There are others, though, that are going to find it just is not a practical idea.

The best advice is to make sure you check out all your choices, before deciding what you want to do. There are hundreds of manufacturers that make this class of products with lower prices. Several will even allow you to start a business with them that requires no investment or a very small one. Get the facts on any that interest you, before making your final decision.
